Iowa Planned Parenthood

The bill to defund Planned Parenthood of state funding will move from the state senate to the iowa house. Thursday the senate approved the bill. All 29 republican senators voted in favor. One independent joined them and the senate democrats unanimously voted no.

The house is expected to pass the measure to strip funding from any clinic that provides abortions. Governor Terry Branstad has indicted he will sign the bill. Democrats and critics of the legislation note that state law already prohibits tax money from funding abortion procedures.
