The Cyclone women’s basketball team set up, what turned out to be a great weekend for Iowa State athletics, by upsetting the sixth ranked Texas Longhorns last Friday. Iowa State captured a 70-66 road win by going 8-20 from behind the arc. This was the first road victory over a top-6 team in program history. On Monday, the women kept it rolling by defeating Oklahoma State on senior night, 61-48. In her home finale, Seanna Johnson finished with a double-double, attaining 18 points and 14 rebounds. with the win, the Cyclones women joined the Cyclone men by winning their 5th consecutive big 12 game. Iowa State will take their hot streak in to the big 12 tournament, where they play the 24th ranked Kansas State Wildcats. The game is in Oklahoma City on Saturday, and begins at 11 a.m.
