‘Changing Perspectives’ Disability Awareness Event

Iowa State’s International Student Council’s Humanitarian Awareness Committee is holding an event called ‘Changing Perspectives’. This event is for students to experience what it is like to be physically disabled. The main purpose of this event is to promote awareness to how people are affected by physical disabilities worldwide. The vice president of ISC Hannah Ridzuan said that that ‘Changing Perspectives’ will be and informative and interactive event that includes a number of activities where groups will be led from room to room trying to accomplish certain tasks. Each task will give participants a feeling of what it would be like to have physical disabilities. At the end of the event a reflection session will be available for people to ask questions and discuss what they have learned. ‘Changing Perspectives’ will be held Friday, March 3rd at 4:30 in 1106 Pearson Hall. If you want to sign up for this event, you can go to the ISC’s Facebook Page or register at the event if there is space available.
