Iowa State University’s 159th Anniversary

We would like to wish Iowa State University a happy birthday. The university celebrated its 159th anniversary yesterday. Originally named Iowa Agriculture College and Model Farm the school was established on March 22, 1858. The school was officially renamed to Iowa State in 1959 and is a leading school in agriculture and engineering to this day. Starting with a class of only 24 men and two women the Iowa State community has grown greatly with now reaching more than 36,000 students. The campus itself has grown as well with hundreds of buildings and a multitude of programs such as technology, science and art.
